January: Intention
Happy New Year, fellow explorers! As we embark on this journey of growth together, it's time to lay the foundation with intention. Think of it as building a house: you wouldn't just start stacking bricks without a blueprint, right? (Well, maybe some people would, but those people probably aren't reading a blog about personal growth.)
For me, intention is about setting a clear direction, defining my goals, and creating a roadmap for the year ahead. It's about ditching the "winging it" strategy (which, let's be honest, has led to some spectacular failures in the past) and embracing some good old-fashioned planning.
But here's the thing: planning an active mind can be tricky. My brain loves to jump between ideas, make unexpected connections, and explore a million possibilities all at once. It's like trying to herd cats in a hurricane.
So, this year, I'm taking a more structured approach to intention-setting. I'm breaking down my goals into smaller, more manageable steps, creating visual maps and timelines, and using technology to help me stay organized and focused. (Think spreadsheets, project management tools, and maybe even a few strategically placed sticky notes.)
Sharing My Journey (and Maybe Some Embarrassing Stories):
Throughout January, I'll be sharing my process on this blog, offering insights, strategies, and maybe even a few cautionary tales from my own misadventures in goal-setting. Here's what you can expect:
Honest Reflections: I'll be sharing my personal experiences with setting intentions, both the successes and the face-plants. Expect some vulnerability, some self-deprecating humor, and maybe even a few confessions about my past attempts at "organization" (let's just say my apartment isn’t what those in the industry call Guest Ready)
Practical Strategies: I'll share the tools and techniques I'm using to stay focused and achieve my goals, including tips for time management, prioritization, and overcoming procrastination (because let's be real, we all struggle with that sometimes).
Neurodiversity Insights: I'll offer a unique perspective on goal-setting as an autistic individual, discussing the challenges and strengths of how I make it work, and how I'm adapting my approach to fit my needs.
So, if you're ready to ditch the "winging it" strategy and embrace a more intentional approach to 2025, join me on this journey! Let's set some goals, create some roadmaps, and support each other in achieving our dreams. And hey, if you have any tips or strategies that have worked for you, share them in the comments! We're all in this together.
